"Sophie is so patient and encouraging with my daughter. She seems to always be learning and having fun - there are lots of laughs, giggles, and conversations about music (and other things), and my daughter really values the time with Sophie. I can say that I see improvement, and my daughter enjoys the time and is engaged. While she may not practice all the time, she practices without prompting, often when she gets up in the morning or whenever the mood strikes her. She enjoys playing and learning new songs, especially if it is one she knows from a movie or a pop song. Somehow Sophie made having virtual lessons during covid fun and it really was crucial, since I know my daughter missed having chorus and in-person music class."

"One of our favorite sounds that fills our house is the sound of our children playing songs on the piano. It literally is music to our ears. Music that has been taught by our beloved piano teacher, Ms. Sophie, as she has been teaching our kids since 2013.
Like all great teachers, she builds a strong relationship with her students and through that connection uses humor, enthusiasm, passion, talent, patience, and her belief in your child that they can do it. The joy she brings in teaching piano is contagious.
Sophie is not a cookie-cutter teacher. She goes beyond to design activities or pick out songs that match your child’s individual needs and wants to increase their motivation/ drive to play. She goes that extra mile to make learning fun.
We are so grateful to Ms. Sophie for teaching our kids; we couldn’t have asked for a better instructor. What a gift she is and what a gift she gives to our kids."

"Learning to play piano has always been on my bucket list. I took piano for a few semesters in college many years ago but the intervening years got away from me and I never made time for it. Enter Sophie, with whom I started taking lessons from in January of this year . I cannot believe how far she has brought me in such a short time. She is patient but flexible. She has a planned curriculum she follows, which intersperses practical hands-on tips with music theory along the way, but she is always willing to add in songs I am interested in learning. Her empathy and thoughtful but fun approach to teaching have allowed this old dog to start to learn some new tricks and, for that, I am so grateful. I cannot recommend her highly enough as a teacher even if you are a complete beginner. It’s never too late to learn!"
